February's Postcard Club

This postcard was taken at Villa Monastero, during my first few days alone in Lake Como, before anyone else arrived.

Those early days felt quiet in a way that was hard at first. Navigating a sleepy lakeside town alone was frustrating, and the stillness made me acutely aware of how much I was waiting for my friends to arrive.

But standing here, overlooking the water, something softened. Walking through the gardens, surrounded by flowers just beginning to bloom, the loneliness slowly gave way to something more romantic. Intentional. Like the town was reminding me to slow down.

Flowers bloom. Thinking of you.

This postcard captures that in-between moment before the laughter, before the shared meals, before the memories multiplied. The pause before connection. A reminder that sometimes the most romantic part of a journey is the moment right before everything comes together.
